Get Claude on your device — step-by-step install guide for students

Welcome! Before your first session of the AI-Powered Business course,
let’s make sure Claude is set up on your computer and phone so you can follow
along with every hands-on exercise. Pick your device below and follow the steps.
It takes about 5 minutes.

Before you start — create your free Claude account

Open claude.ai in your browser.
Click Sign up and use your email, Google, or Apple account.
Verify your email and set your name. You’ll use this same account to sign in on every device.

Tip: Use the email you’ll keep using after the course — your chat history
and projects live with your account.

🍎 Install Claude on macOS

Works on macOS 11 Big Sur or later, Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.

Go to claude.ai/download.
Click Download for Mac. A .dmg file will download.
Open the downloaded file and drag the Claude icon into your
Applications folder.
Open Applications, double-click Claude, and confirm
“Open” if macOS asks.
Sign in with the account you just created.

If macOS blocks the app: open System Settings → Privacy & Security,
scroll down, and click Open Anyway next to Claude.

🪟 Install Claude on Windows

Works on Windows 10 and Windows 11 (both x64 and ARM64).

Go to claude.ai/download.
Click Download for Windows and save the installer.
Double-click the downloaded .exe file to run the installer.
If Windows SmartScreen pops up, click More info → Run anyway.
Follow the installer prompts. When it finishes, launch Claude from the Start menu.
Sign in with your Claude account.

Pin it for easy access: right-click Claude in the Start menu and choose
Pin to taskbar — you’ll use it every day during the course.

📱 Install Claude on iPhone & iPad

Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.
Search for “Claude by Anthropic”.
Tap Get and confirm with Face ID, Touch ID, or your Apple ID password.
Open the app and sign in with your Claude account.

Shortcut: on your iPhone, open
this App Store link
and tap Get.

🤖 Install Claude on Android

Open the Google Play Store.
Search for “Claude by Anthropic”.
Tap Install.
Open the app and sign in with your Claude account.

Shortcut: on your phone, open
this Google Play link
and tap Install.

You’re ready! Quick check before class

I can sign in to Claude on my computer.
I can sign in to Claude on my phone using the same account.
I sent myself one test message (try: “Give me 3 ideas for an AI-powered small business.”) and got a reply.
